Kazuki NAKAMAE (Senior Researcher at PtBio and Assistant Professor, Laboratory of BioDX, PtBio Co-Creation Research Center, Genome Editing Innovation Center, Hiroshima University) and Hidemasa BONO (Science and Technology Advisor at PtBio and specially-appointed professor, Laboratory of Genome Informatics, Graduate School of Integrated Sciences for Life, Hiroshima University) co-authored the review article "genome editing and bioinformatics," published in the journal genome and genome editing.
The review outlines bioinformatics technologies that are essential for advancing genome editing research, and introduces the "Bio-Digital Transformation (BioDX)" approach that fully utilizes existing public databases.
It also discusses efforts for genome editing in species whose genomic information is little available (non-model organisms), and demonstrates the critical importance of developing a database of genome editing resources for the future development of genome editing research.
