The Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) and the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) announced the winners of the "University Venture Award 2024 - Award for Academics Startups" on August 22.
PtBio received the Special Award for Academic Venture Award.
The "University Venture Award" is an initiative to honor outstanding university-launched ventures that have started up utilizing the achievements of universities and other institutions and are expected to do well in the future.
The award ceremony was held within the University Trade Fair 2024 - Innovation Japan at Tokyo Big Sight.
Hiroshima University was highly evaluated for its efforts toward social implementation of allergy-reduced eggs that realize food barrier-free by utilizing the domestically produced genome editing technology "Platinum TALEN," which is the result of Hiroshima University's research, and for its contribution to solving various social issues through co-creation projects with partner companies.
PtBio will contribute to solving global social issues and achieving the SDGs through social implementation in various fields, including "allergy-reduced eggs".
