PtBio Establishes Malaysian Subsidiary as a Hub for Global Expansion – Begins Local Recruitment Activities：2025-04-24

PtBio Inc. (Head Office: Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture; CEO: Keisuke Okuhara; hereinafter "PtBio") established its Malaysian subsidiary, PtBio ASIA SDN. BHD., on March 12, 2025, as a strategic base for international expansion, particularly in Asia. The company will participate in a local recruitment event on April 26 to support its operational launch.

PtBio is a biotechnology startup founded in 2019, centered on the Japanese-developed genome editing technology "Platinum TALEN," created by Professor Taku Yamamoto of Hiroshima University and others. Through national industry-academia collaboration initiatives such as the JST COI-NEXT program, PtBio promotes the social implementation of genome editing and bio-DX technologies, with the aim of addressing global social challenges and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In January 2024, PtBio established its Southeast Asian operational base at the Center of Garage Malaysia (CoGMY), located in the innovation-driven city of Cyberjaya, Malaysia. This move was aimed at applying biotechnology to solve environmental and energy-related challenges in Southeast Asia. As part of its continued global expansion, PtBio has now incorporated a local entity in Malaysia. To accelerate local operations, PtBio will participate in the recruitment event “Add Venture Forum Malaysia 2025,” scheduled for April 26.
